I am extremely partial to science museums and natural history museums. So when we were looking for a second day trip for a weekend trip to Virginia, I chose a museum. The museum we went to was the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, Virginia.
I enjoyed this museum and the exhibits they had at the time quite a bit. The exhibits covered everything from dinosaurs to the history of the Chesapeake Bay. Most of the exhibits were on the first floor of the museum. The second floor was easily accessed with an elevator. While the museum was not super large it did appear to have events quite often. Even the day we were there was a geology themed “Science Saturday”.
Overall I had a fantastic time at this museum. Granted I cannot speak for how well this place would be for small kids. Our group was my sister, mother, and myself. But I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked me about it.
