So my family visited Kiptopeke State Park as part of a day trip to the Chesapeake Bay back in the summer of 2015. Once we crossed the bay over to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, we saw a brown sign and thought we would stop.
We found a small beach and all kinds of people camping. The picture at the top of this post is of some boats. At the park, we found out those boats were places in the bay off the shore to serve as wave breakers. They help to prevent erosion of the shoreline.
Overall it seemed like a cute little state park, and I would gladly return to it if I was in the area.
