One weekend in college I got bored and just started driving, I ended up in Oak Ridge Tennessee at the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE). I really enjoyed this museum as I was anticipating something typical but was surprised. The museum was a mix of science and history focuses around the town of Oak Ridge and its connection to The Manhattan Project from WWII. This meant there were exhibits on the bombs and how they were made, and exhibits on what life was like in the town during and after the war. Other exhibits focused on different sources of energy and impacts on the environment.
Since my visit to the AMSE they have gotten a new building and other updates, and I look forward to being able to return and check those out.
